College of Business - FAQs for Changing Majors

No. We want students to start trying to narrow down a specific discipline within the Business field on which to focus. The good news is that the requirements to be admitted to all 10 of the majors in the College of Business are the same apart from Accounting. You have time to do your research and determine the right major for you. Those requirements can be found here: https://business.fsu.edu/undergraduate/admission-requirements

What careers do different majors typically lead to?

Visit the Match Major Sheet for Business found on the Career Center’s website to find out some information about different career options. Many students work in diverse fields regardless of their majors, so do not feel limited by this list. https://career.fsu.edu/sites/g/files/upcbnu746/files/Business_3.pdf

Where can I find information about what classes I will take for each major?

The best place to find that information is here: https://business.fsu.edu/undergraduate/majors

Can I double major with two majors in the College of Business?

Yes. Students often choose to study more than one discipline within the College of Business. However, students are not allowed to double major in two majors that result in the same degree. For example, students cannot double major in Management and Human Resource Management. You also do not declare your second major until you are formally admitted into your first one. Ask an advisor if you’re not sure. Email ugprog@business.fsu.edu for more information.

Can I change my major to a Business major if I am a lower-division transfer student?

Possibly. You must be on track based off the number of terms you have been enrolled in college post high school graduation. Email admissions@business.fsu.edu from your FSU student email account, and an admissions advisor will help you change your major if you are on track or make a plan to get on track.
